Insider’s Guide to Beijing

Haidian DistrictHaidian DistrictHaidian District
Beijing's Haidian District, located in the northwestern part of this ancient city, is its second largest "neighborhood." It is home to China's most famous colleges – Tsinghua and Peking Universities – as well as several other schools. As a result, most of the area's residents are students, so this neighborhood has an MTV generation vibe. It's a great part of the city to take in music, checkout a very local bar scene and enjoy the free scenery available on the public campuses.
